What is Occupational Therapy or OT?
Occupational therapists, often called OTs, are the primary providers of occupational therapy services. Occupational therapy is a type of health care that helps to people of all ages who have physical, sensory or cognitive problems. OT can help them to improved their school performance, and aids their daily activities . Its also boosts their self-esteem and sense of accomplishment.
With Occupational therapist, kids can:
- Develop gross motor skills so they master basic life skills such as getting dressed, self-feeding and brushing teeth.
- Develop their handwriting, also can grasp and hold things
- Improve eye-hand coordination
- Social Interaction and learn positive behaviours
Who is eligible for the intervention programme?
- Autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
- Children with developmental delays (when a child is slower to achieve some or all of the developmental milestones at the expected age, example: gross or fine motor, language, social, or thinking skills)
